Osseo Area Schools is the fifth largest district in Minnesota serving over 21,000 students in 8 of the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis. The Osseo Area School’s  mission is to inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.  With this in mind, Osseo Area Schools entered into a partnership with National Urban Alliance (NUA) in 2014 with the goal of deepening staff’s capacity to implement culturally responsive pedagogy. Osseo Area Schools has shown its level of commitment through a number of policies and practices to engage in systemic equity work that reaches each of its students, including many who have been historically marginalized and underserved. The collaboration with NUA has been one strategy that has been implemented with the goal of reaching the district’s mission.
